Blicci 2005 News
December 19 - Kiitos, Finland! (Thank you, Finland!)
Jane went with Bertil (EUUV05 KLBV05 Blicci's Blue Bayou) to the Finnish Winner Show, December 17th and Nordic Winner Show, December 18th in Helsinki, Finland. It was Bertil's first travelling by flight and he behaved beautifully. When we arrived at the ringside I understood that Bertil has a lot of fans in Finland, and got more as the days proceeded. We got so many compliments from everybody - thank you so much! With 26 phalene entries on Saturday and 25 on Sunday, Bertil took the CAC both days and went best male No. 3 and 2 respectively, with Reserve CACIB on Sunday. Thanks to the judges Ms. Liz Stannard and Mr. Terry Nethercott, both from Great Britain.
The shows were said to be the world's biggest one day show events with more than 7,000 entries each day. Moreover, everything was very well organized and it was a pleasure to attend. The finals were absolutely breathtaking with a huge audience, lightshow and sound of superb quality. To give you just an idea of this incredible show, I made a tiny Video Clip from Saturday's group 9 entry.
December, Denmark - Bertil is # 1 phalene male of the year and Chip is best Danish bred papillon male
The year's Top-10 rankings are published and we are pleased to announce that our young boy EUUV05 Blicci's Blue Bayou made it to the top of the phalene males over the champions. The win gives him his second title: KLBV05 i.e. Club Winner 2005. On the papillon list, our boy DKCH SCH FINCH NORDCH INTCH Blicci's U Are My Universe is #3 of the males, and the highest placed Danish bred papillon male.
December 4, USA - New Master Of Agility Champion
StarStruck Chase The Moon, "Chase", son of Ch En-La's Bravissimo and Ch MACH Blicci's Sandra Dee in her first litter, is now MACH himself. Congratulations here from Blicci to his owner, breeder and handler, Andrea Samuels from New York. Andrea and Chase represented the USA at the World championship in Agility in Valladolid in Spain in September where Chase was one of the youngest competing dogs. An absolutely outstanding papillon to whom we are very proud to be "grandparents!"
November 26, Denmark - Chip is BISS
At the year's last Papillon and Phalene Club Specialty show in Aalborg in the north of Denmark, Chip took his 3rd BOB in succession and went BISS under Mr. Norman Deschuymere from Belgium. A wonderful way of finishing the show season for Chip, who will now have a nice long winter vacation until next year! He has contributed to make this year our most fabulous in the show rings with his BOBs in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, and group placements too. He also finished champion titles in Sweden and Finland and became Nordic and International champion. Chip will definitely be back in the show rings next year, one of our plans for him being travelling to Crufts in England in March.

Not only did he go Best of Breed under Ms. Moa Persson from Sweden, but made this day very special by taking a Group 3rd under Ms. Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel from Germany. A dull and dark November day, but who cared! Group placed at two international shows in succession - that is good times!

May 16, Denmark Chip goes Reserve Best in Show
Photo: Ole Købler
It was a cold and rainy day at the All-Breed Whitsun Show in Koege ("Pinseskue" - sort of a match show, but with participation of champions), but after having shown Chip (Ch Bliccis U Are My Universe) to a very nice Group 1st, we defied the cold and concentrated on keeping Chip dry until the Best in Show final. Chip looked so tiny as he was gaiting together with the other 7 group winners, but he showed wonderfully and after a long evaluation by the three judges Ms. Lisbeth Bech, Mr. Gunnar Nymann and Mr. Kresten Scheel, Chip ended up as a honourable Reserve Best in Show, only defeated by the beagle. What a day!
May 1, Denmark - Bertil takes his 2nd CAC and goes best male
Only a week after his first success, Blicci's Blue Bayou did a very nice follow-up at his 2nd show, the international Danish Kennel Club show in Ballerup, taking his 2nd CAC and going best male over champions. Ended up as BOS and we were very pleased with him. Thanks to judge Mr. Gunnar Nymann from Denmark.
We also had best phalene breeder's group with prize of honour and Bertil's grandmother, DKCH WA97 SCH INTCH KBHV98 KLBCH KBHV01 Blicci's Little Wonder was Best Veteran, so it was a really nice show day.

Chip completes the day by going 3rd in Group, judged by Mr. Martin Croeser, South Africa
This weekend became one to remember. On Friday at the Papillon Club show in Næstved, our pretty phalene Ch Blicci's Tiny Trixie went best champion female and BOS and got the 4th certificate to complete her title Danish Club Champion.

Trixie went Best of Breed and our handsome papillon boy Ch Blicci's U Are My Universe also made it to the top in his breed, defeating some of the Nordic countries' top winning paps. BOB phalene and BOB papillon by the same owner and breeder - to our knowledge this has not been done before by a Danish breeder.
In addition to this, our phalene puppy Blicci's Blue Bayou had his show debut and went Best Puppy in Breed. Thanks to the judge Ms. Pam Carpenter from Australia who did appreciate the true breed type of Blicci's paps and phalenes and was very determined about her winners.
